Salmon Pool Fishing
Woodmill's salmon pool is an idyllic and secluded spot where the tidal and non tidal stretches of the river Itchen meet and dates back more than 100 years. It has been described as one of the best places to fish on the south coast and we regularly have anglers from far and wide come and visit.
Our night time sea trout fishing is our most popular fishing time. The season runs from 1st May - 31st October.
For the 2026 season, membership of Friends of Woodmill Fly Fishing is required, and will cost £10 per year once the association is established.

After a successful fishing season in the autumn, we are pleased to announce that we expect night fishing for sea trout is available again at Woodmill Pool this season.
